Finishing Off My Essay

Today we had to finish off our essay from last class. I honestly thought it would be easy to write an essay, but I thought wrong. Writing an essay takes time and patience, which I don't have. But anyways, I got it done on time. This assignment just made me see that I need more practice and more patience.

Essay on Personality

You know I thought that writing an essay on personality will be easy for me, however my mind is constanly blank. Then when I start writing, I feel like I'm being redundant. But what the heck, that is why we have our edits right?
I was only able to write 2 pages. Now I know. The next essay we have, I am going to pick a topic that comes easy to me.
Time went by fast tonight. I'm ready to go home and eat, shower and relax for work tomorrow.
My stomach is so growling right now. Anyone have food? Hunger...LOL! I feel like I can eat a whole cow tonight.

4th day?

I actually lost track if this is the fourth or fifth day, like it matters. I'm actually feeling a lot better than my last post, a few coughs here and there and my herpes acting up (joke), but other than that I'm doing okay. Today was pretty much straight-forward. We went and continue on our descriptive essay, in which I completed (yay). I can't really say much about today because that's about it. I guess I'll see you guys on wednesday?

Continuing Our Descriptive Essay

I have so much to write about that I feel I am leaving out too many details. It is such a hurtful time im life that I dont like to discuss it often. I am writing about almost losing my daughter and how do you describe those emtions in words. I cant seem to find sufficient words. We had to draft our partners work again. I am really not good at this portion of class. I also said before that I have a hard time talking about this issue. So having someone, a stranger, read my personal thoughts and correct them isnt easy. I know I am here to learn to write properly and I chose my topic so no excuses, but I figures I would throw it out there anyways.

My favorite car

Okay, so today was as you guessed it, another day in English class. We continued with our essay(descriptive) and my topic is "my favorite car". Nissan Skyline is that car, well who doesn't like that car?, I think everyone would have that car if they could. It is too expensive, about $90,000 is what it will cost you. Anyhow, Rod is editing my second draft, he did a good job on editing my first draft. Likewise, I also edited his draft.

Descriptive Essay

Today we just continued our Descriptive Essay. I had to retype mine because there's too much typo. Luckily I kind a type fast so I finished early. Then I had to print it so my partner can read it and correct it. I guess that's about it.

Today we do the draft continue and also exchange paper with partner to make any suggestion or command. We also welcome the new student he just start today and he told class that he was kind of confuse to use computer because it's been long time he never come back to school.

Day 4

Hey everyone! How are you doing today? How are your classes so far? As for me I had a pretty long day. I arrived to school by 9 a.m. for my culinary class, and man was it awesome. The lab for today was to bake cookies. We had different varieties from biscotti, chocolate chip, macadamian nut, and etc. By 12:45 the class finished baking and we started to send some out throughout the school. When 2 o'clock came class was dismissed. From there I began to grow sleepy from being bored, because I had big time gap. I sat in front of BCS cafe for like 2 and half hours until I decided to walk around with a few friends. We talked and walked around campus till it was time for class. Now here I am just continuing and finishing off whatever needs to be done with my descriptive paper.

What can I say about today? Well, I can say that I finished early writing my essay. Just waiting. Ahh! Brain Fart! I don't know what to write. This blogging can come in handy someday, but today I can't think. (ugh.) Today...Today...Today... I'll come back to this later.

Well besides my day. In class, we just went straight to the computer and continued our descriptive essay. Oh yeah, we were also given a folder to keep all our drafts. Its RED! Love it! Well, beside that we got folder. I'm just waiting for my partner to be down with here essay so I can edit it and waiting for my essay to be edited. So I can turn my essay in. (15minutes later) Just finish editing and retyping my essay.

It's already later. Nothing in my mind, but my room. ahaha. I feel so tired.

Descriptive Essay August 25, 2010

Today we went over how to write a descriptive essay. At first my mind was blank, and then as I started typing it just keep flowing. It was very cold. I finished on time. Thanks.

Time isn't Working with me, especially my Brain

Gosh today was a rush, the time went by so fast I couldn't think straight. I guess because I'm still tired from yesterday partying all night with my boyfriends family, ugh not doing that again not for awhile, but of course I would but not on a school night. [laughing] Whoa never taught I would say that, I'm such a good girl Gosh! Well anyways, in the class we talked about descriptive essay and choice an essay to do, other then that we had three new students that just entered the class. WELCOME TO THE CLASS! =] Oh yeah, we also started our first draft. (see what I mean my head is not working with me today, AHHH!)

Descriptive Essay

Today we went over how to right an essay and choosing a subject to right about. I wrote about one of the most saddest day of my life. The essay had to be a page a long and then when we were done, we had to choose a partner to trade essays so we can edit each others own. I traded with Marla.
Her essay was on point with everything. Honestly, I'm not the best editor in the world. That would probably be a weak point for me in this class. Hope Dr. Rivera can help me with my problem.

This is the third day of this writing class, we start do to the Descriptive Essays and each of us were choosing any topic from the class blog and started to write about it. But after a few moments we just printed it out no mater if we are not done we exchange to our partner and they written any suggestion and comment on it.

August 25,2010

The first thing we did today is read the instructions for Descriptive Writing. Then we read the example topics. It helped me a lot because it explained many information about writing a descriptive essay. Then we were all done we had to pick a topic. I picked the topic about places. While writing the essay I was kind a shy because my partner would have to read it afterward, but gladly I picked the right partner, he was kind enough to understand what I wrote. I didn't exactly finish my essay but I'll try my best to finish it tomorrow.

3rd Day of Class

Today we discussed on how to write a descriptive essay. I didn't realize how difficult it would be to pick a topic, so I decided on the one closest to me, my place of employment. I'm not too sure if this is a topic I would want to write about considering I despise my job, but I figured it would be the best topic since I do go there almost everyday and it would be easy for me to write about. I started to do some brainstorming and attempted to try the clustering method. It was pretty easy putting ideas together, but writing it down was a different story. Dear Lord, please let help me!! :)

3rd day

Third day today and I am sick (sad face),but the cool thing about blogging is that I can't make you sick reading oppose to me talking to you while I cough and sneeze at your face. We went online (surprise) and went to our blog (surpise again). Today we discuss on what is a descriptive essay and steps on how to write it. After that we had to pick a topic for the essay and start our brainstorming and a draft for the essay. The topic I picked was my job, describing my job was pretty easy and I know all the emotions I feel while I'm working. I first did a web of ideas and emotions about my job, it's just the way I organize things next to an outline of the essay. I wrote some of it but didn't complete it because of the time restraint. My partner Ajay, whose this cool guy edit my paper and vice versa. I guess that's about it, hope I get better because this is defintely not working out for me. Peace out homies!! Have a great night. my 3rd day

Today we wrote a short essay, my topic was all about my friends from elementary to college when I was still at PI it kind a remind me of how happy I am when I was with my friends but now I cant even see them face to face it's kind of sad.

Day 1 of Descriptive Essay Draft 1

Today we selected our topic for our descriptive essay and started the brainstorming process. I choose to write about my life encounter in regards to the lost of my last child and only daughter however, during the brainstorming process and start of my essay I feel that this topic is not a very vivid topic in which I can write about as a descriptive essay. At this moment I am actually contemplating on changing my topic. I must say that the brainstorming process is mind boggling.

Descriptive Essay

Well today we all had to choose a topic for a descriptive, I'm sure that a lot of my peers have some great ideas for their topic. My topic is on my favorite car. Although I don't own one at the moment, one day I will, because it is my dream car. What car is this you say? It's the one and only Nissan Skyline, there is more to come on that dream car. Rod who was assigned to be my partner for peer review on this essay edited my first draft. Likewise I corrected or i edited his first draft, which are mainly ideas.

Today was an interesting class. I had to take a test. It was rather easy though. We did have to write an essay of our choice i chose to write about ny daughters near death experience. It is a very hard topic for me but I feel writing about things that are emotionally scarring cann help you get over the pain. We also went over descriptive writing. Which actually was before we wrote our essay. I had to edit my partners essay which is not my strongest point, but I hope i managed to be of assistance. I felt like I barely touched a piece into my eassy beacause there is so much I want to say. I realize that my weakness in English is going to be the editing. I do not take critisiscm well from peers. I really hope that i am able to express all my emotions fully in my essay.

Day 3

WOW!! quick dry shorts and slippers was a bad idea to wear. Seems like this class gets colder as the days goes by. Well any ways today we started the class by logging in again to our blogger. We read on how to write a descriptive essay. As soon as we finished, we had to come up with a topic to write about. I titled mine as " My Room ". I'm writing about my room because I moved out of my house and I guess I just miss it. I know it may sound silly to miss a room. But I had a lot of great memories and sad memories. After writing about our topics my partner and I exchanged papers to correct ourselves.

I was unable to attend class, but I am trying to keep up with everything in class. I do look forward to tonights class. If anyone has the assignment so I can be fully prepared tonight please let me know.

Day Two

Day Two

August 23, 2010 was the second day of En100w class, which is actually the right class. Funny story; the first day of class I went to the wrong class time. Luckily it was the same class(EN100W), but just the wrong section. We're section 13 and I went to the section 11 class, I thought it was very funny that I got mixed-up with my schedule. But in doing so I missed my other class which starts at 6P.M.(same time as section 11). Getting back to today, we went over our calendar for the class and Dr.Rivera explained each section on it. We then were given 40 minutes to complete a SERT practice test, looking forward to the up coming days for this class.

Second Day of Class

Today we go over the writing process and the Calendar of events. In the writing process we learn three different kind of stages which is explore, organize and write but in explore we know that we will have a free writing, brainstorm, list, cluster and the organize it’s going to be a topic sentence or thesis, but the last stage was write like a revising paper and emphasizing.
The last part of class we took the pre test and it kind of interesting and amazing to me because it refreshing my spelling and grammar.

Today i went to my class for the first time today i made a Gmail and a blog account,
we did a worksheet and went over the calander of events. The teacher was nice and helpful she helped me with making my Gmail. The class was could and all that i can think about was just going out side to smoke or to warm up alittle.

Second Day of Class

Today in class we once again accessed our class blog online and began class discussing the calendar of events. We then proceeded to discuss the different stages of writing. After, we proceeded to take the SERT practice test. I find it very frustrating trying to concentrate in class after a long day at work, but I know whether I like it or not, I would have to work extra hard to pass this class if I want to continue with my academic plan.

august 23 2010

Today was kind a fun for me final my classes are stating to get interesting I specially like my Japanese 1 course, introduction to automotive is kinda hard to understand though.

We have our first quiz today it' kind a long thought but it's okay i guest still missing my old school though and my old classmates but meeting new friends is okay but i would rather hang out with my old friends for I.T. we never have a dull moment every moment is unpredictable and weird in a good way I've never know what would they start to tease each other and make fun of others even having our own game and shop to hang out to.

Sert Practice Test.

Today we were given a Sert practice test, but before we took the practice test we reviewed the calendar of events. Scheming through the calender of events I was disappointed to discover that we officially only had two holiday's this school semester to include Our Lady of Camarin which actually falls after the last day for those attending Monday and Wednesday classes.
Anyhow, the Sert practice test was mind boggling and got me thinking about whether or not the sentences were grammatically correct. I actually questioned Doctor Rivera if number sixty-six had been a typo however, after returning to my seat and reading through the question again I soon realized that the answer had been amongst my multiple choices all that time. I guess I just needed to "read between the lines."

Today's Activity 08/23/2010

Today I arrived to class and I did the same thing as last class, which was sign the attendance sheet and then log onto the blog. We waited for all the students to come into class so that way we can start with the lesson that is plan for us students. Ones every one walked into class and was settled down we all clicked on the calender for the semester and read over the calender on what we have to do and what needs to be turned in for that day. After reading the calender we went over the writing process worksheet. We had to read the work sheet one by one and out loud as well. She then spoke to use for a couple of minutes about the writing paper process and then told us what we have to do next which was to take the SERT practice test. So we then took our practice test and try to finish it before time is up after the pretest she had us students write a blog about what we had done tonight.

Second Day

On my second day in English Writing, we first went over our Calendar, Dr. Rivera explained the works that we'll be doing the whole semester. Then we went over our worksheets, we discussed the steps on proper writing. The steps helped me more on understanding how to write an informative essays. After that we had to take a Test for 40 minutes. Which included proper sentences. It was brain draining, but at least it will tell me on where I stand on my writing skills.

Day 2

On 8/23/10 the class and I started the night by going on the computer and check our class calender to see what events will be going on this semester and how to have a writing process. As Dr. Rivera made us read out loud the sentences I sat here complaining in my head how cold the class is T_T. As soon as we were done with reading the writing process. We all to a pre test of the sert test. I guess you can say I did well as much as I wanted to just guess through out the test I still tried my best. So now that I sit here in class finishing up this blog... I wonder whats going to happen next. o_Oa

Writing and SERTTest

Today we went over our calender of events and took a test on grammar. The calender of events told us what we will be doing for this semester and also when things are do. I think it's cool how our teacher planned out everything ahead of time, so I could know what assignments are going to be handed out or what we will be doing that class period. What took up most of the class time was the grammar test. Its was a hundred question test and we had to finish it within forty-five minutes. I thought it was pretty easy, but I know I kind of got a few questions wrong. Hopefully I got a good grade!

Second day

What can I say about the second day of class, it was the same as last week okay, but different in a way.
Today we talked about the class Calendar Events and the way I see it this class is going to be doing a whole lot of blogging and essay writing, well its a writing class so that's explanatory, crazy me. Well, anyways after discussing the Calendar Events we discussed the class Writing Process Worksheet, in that worksheet it shows us stages on what we should write an essay and paragraph like; the assignment your doing, explore, being organizes, and write. Nothing to fancy. Then, we toke a test, I think its called a SERT Test, well anyways that test is simple but long, holy molly it had 100 questions and gad my head hurts just doing that test. I didn't expect a test on the second day, but who cares its class.

Second Meet for EN100W

Today we went over our Calendar of Events and a worksheet template for our class. Dr. Rivera went over some of the writing techniques on the board. Then we had a 90 some question test that had to be done in 45 minutes. It wasn't that bad. I think that I will learn a lot in this class just from all the assignments due. I like it. It will keep me on track and less distracted from my social life. That's a good thing. I need all the strict teachers I can get.

2nd Day

2nd day of Mon/Wed class (I'll probably stop counting right after 10, because that's how much my fingers can allow me to count, still learning how to count with my nine toes) and I noticed that there were fewer people than they were on the first day. I hope it wasn't because of me, but then again it couldn't be because of me because I don't know 95% of the people here (by the way, I'm not good at percentages so that might be an exaggeration, hope I spelled that right). So we all went to the computers and went to this very blog spot. We discuss the calendar and all the work we're going to do for the semester. I looked at all the essays and I was like "wee!! sarcastically." We then proceed on doing the EN100w pre-test, which was like 100 random questions. Some are oddly related to me like "John is ____ on working in day and attending school at night." I was like "this John fellow is pretty cool for doing that because I'm doing that." Some questions we're pretty weird, even to my standards like "I couldn't find my new _____" and the choices were, a hammer, a nail, a pliers and a pant. I didn't know what to answer so I just put in whatever. After the pre-test, I'm blogging on what we did today, oh wait, I'm doing that right now as we speak. That's about it folks, and don't forget to spay and/or neuter your dogs/cats/catdogs. Goodnight Guam!

My First Day

Today is Wednesday August 18, 2010 which is the first day of GCC class. During this first
day we all introducing our sefl and tell us some interesting things about oursefl, most of the
student they just tell us the name and the major. We also go over the syllabus and registering to
the class blog web site, but for me I really have a hard time to get in and ask my teacher to help
me on her computer and that time I actually get in.

Today's class was pretty interesting. I met new people and learned how to make a yahoo account. Honestly, I had some technical glitches!

I'm Adam Ross C. Faldas my friends call me Adam, A.R. or Lycoris my hobbies are watching anime, reading manga and play magic with my friends before i got here in in Guam actually I'm really have a hard time adapting here and I'm always feeling bored and sad since i always miss the things i use to do and my family and friends.My motto in life is during high school was "wisdom with out knowledge is like fire with out light" since me and my friends like playing strategy game but ever since I got here i change my motto in life like galatea my motto is "I live for the things that i lost and the this i don't want to lose" I have lost a lot of thing since I got here but i gain something in exchange.

I always ask my self even way back during my childhood "will i give up your past to save my future?" now i tell my self it cant be help but i will make the most of it by finish my course and having a better future not for me but my family that i leave behind.

My First Day :0

Today was my first day on EN100W: Fundamentals of College English. We introduced ourselves by standing up one by one and stating our name and major. I was a little nervous but it was cool. There are some interesting people in the class. After the introduction we went into the syllabus and last we made the "BLOGGER" thing. ;)

It is my first day in college and I am exhausted. For my English W100 we first read our syllabus, then we introduce ourselves. It was fun.

My First Day in EN100W

My first day in class was kind of confusing. We had to log onto our class blog, however when I opened the website it was not in english. Like Hello? Isn't this an English class? But with the help of a new classmate is was changed back to English. I was like whoo! Thank you girl!

So here I was trying to create a Gmail account and it was not going through. Even more confusion going around the classroom. So ofcourse being the person that I am, I keep playing with all the website and finally a break! I got in.

In the end, I kind of got delayed to finish the assignments due. But that's okay, because if I didn't have a problem with the computer, I might have not talked to any of my classmates.

About me

My name is Jasmine Mendiola came into this world on October 08, 1987. I am 22 years young and reside in the village of Yigo. I have 4 siblings which contains 3sisters and 1brother. I have 1 daughter who is 7 years old, she goes by the name of Joysidine. I had her at the age of fifteen and was a sophomore in high school. I attended JFK High School and graduated on June 2006. I have been atteding GCC since i finished high school. I major in Criminal Justice on both emphasis which would be Admin and Law Enforcement. I went through the 6th Criminal Justice Supplemental Cycle and completed the course in Summer 2008. I am currently the Criminal Justice president and have been holding that position since 2 semester ago. I love what i do and i do it all for my daughter. I am currently engaged to a wonderful man that i get wait to spend my life with, getting married next year of March and i have to say that i am really excited.

My first day.... with EN100W

Well today is the first day of my fourth semester in EN100 writing class. Upon my arrival in class this evening Dr. Rivera instructed me to log on to the blog spot and sign up for a gmail account as we waited for other peers to arrive. Class started a little after 8:00 with brief introduction of each student present.We then reviewed the class syllabus, giving most everyone a turn to read a section. Finally, we were instructed to familiarize our self with blog posting.
As I mentioned earlier this is my first day of my fourth semester in EN100 Writing however my mind set and mentality this time around is to pass. So wish me luck and good luck to you all as well.

"First day of class"

Today in class we access our class blog online. The Instructor briefly introduced herself and in return, we all took turns doing the same. After introductions were made, the Instructor asked the class to access syllabus online. We each took turns reading aloud portions of the syllabus as the Instructor made brief explanations in between. After our discussion of the syllabus, we were instructed to accept invitation to our class blog by Instructor via-email and we were instructed to post our first blog titled, "First Day of Class".

1st Day

So today at EN100W, we went online and took like a half an hour getting everybody settle. It was kind of cool that the class was online. I was expecting like a traditional school experience but this is kind of tight. We then proceed to introduce ourselves. Then we all took turns to read the syllabus and now we're all blogging about what happen today like what I'm doing right now. By the way this is my 1st time blogging, so wooppeee!!

My first official class in en100w

Today August 18, 2010 I attended my first en100w class. Our starting process in class was to sign our names and email addresses before choosing a seat. Shortly after everyone arriving to class we signed into our blogs for our upcoming syllabus. After successfully logging on we all stood in turn and introduced ourselves formally. Following our introductions we read our syllabus in turn until completion. For our final completion of class We were to write a blog about what we reviewed in class.

My First Day of Class.

During my first day in EN-100w-13 was great,but i felt so nerve-wrecking, I didn't really know what to expect. I don't know about other students,but for me I had several question and emotion running up from my to to my brain like; I wonder how the class will be? Will I feel comfortable? Will there be a lot of students? and more.
After entering the class I felt okay. All I had to do is sign in, go to a computer, make a g-mail account, read the syllabus, make a blog, and now just to make an essay, "All About Me".

First Day in English Writting

On August 18, 2010 i walked into my English 100 writing class. I went straight up to the professors desk to make sure i was in the right class which i was then i has to sign in and give my email address so that the professor can add me to her blog. After i did that i logged on to a computer to check my email which she had asked us students to do so that we can accept her invitation. I had to create a gmail account so that i can access the information that she sends us. We then introduced our self to the class we had to say our name and something about our self. we all said our name and our major. After we did the introduction we read over the syllabus we had to read it one by one and out loud.
